Frequently asked questions

Getting started

How does SYN Now work?

Choose a treatment format and complete a secure medical intake. A licensed Provider reviews your health information and determines whether telehealth and a prescription are appropriate. If prescribed, an independent licensed pharmacy prepares and ships the medication directly to you.

Is a prescription guaranteed?

No. A licensed Provider makes an independent clinical decision based on your intake and any follow-up information. The Provider may prescribe, request more information, recommend in-person care, or determine that treatment is not appropriate.

Will I need a video visit?

Some evaluations can be completed through an asynchronous intake, while others may require secure messaging, a telephone call, or video. The Provider will determine what is needed under applicable law and for safe care.

Providers and safety

Who provides medical care?

Independent licensed healthcare professionals provide medical care and make all treatment decisions. SYN Now provides non-clinical technology and administrative support. See the Medical Providers & Licensure page for more information.

What is a compounded medication?

A compounded medication is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient pursuant to a prescription. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. Your Provider determines whether a compounded option is clinically appropriate for you.

Can I use SYN Now for urgent or emergency care?

No. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for an emergency. Telehealth through SYN Now is not a replacement for primary, urgent, or emergency care.

Billing and orders

How much does treatment cost?

Prices vary by formulation and plan and are shown before you authorize payment. Eligibility, final formulation, and pricing depend on Provider review. Unless expressly stated otherwise, services are cash-pay and are not submitted to insurance.

Can I cancel or pause future orders?

You can manage eligible future renewals through the patient portal or contact support before the next order begins processing. A prescription or pharmacy order already in process may not be cancelable. Review the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

Can prescription medication be returned?

No. Prescription medication cannot be returned or restocked after it leaves the pharmacy. Contact support promptly if a shipment is damaged, incorrect, or missing, and do not use medication that appears altered or is labeled for someone else.

Shipping and support

How is medication shipped?

If prescribed, the dispensing pharmacy ships medication in discreet packaging to an eligible address. Timing depends on Provider review, pharmacy processing, carrier conditions, and your location. Tracking information is provided when available.

How do I ask a clinical question?

Use the secure patient portal to message the Provider responsible for your care about symptoms, medication instructions, side effects, or follow-up. Standard support email should be used for account, billing, and order questions.
